Review of Remuneration Policy

The scope

MartinJenkins was engaged to review the remuneration policy and practices for a public sector organisation as part of their commitment to staff when the policy was launched in 2004. The review was to examine all aspects of the policy and advise on whether it was consistent with best practice and able to meet the organisation’s needs and expectations.

Our Involvement

We developed a methodology which incorporated market research, an electronic survey for all staff and structured workshops to gather all relevant information. We also advised on the consultation process with staff and unions. We developed and analysed survey results and ran workshops for managers, staff and unions.

The Outcome

Our research identified that the remuneration policy worked effectively and was consistent with good practice. We identified a series of changes and enhancements that would further improve an already effective remuneration policy. We were also able to support the organisation to manage staff expectations on any changes.

The MartinJenkins Difference

We were able to combine our extensive skills and experience in HR and evaluation to ensure a rigorous and thorough analysis of the issues. This provided the organisation with greater understanding of their existing policy, its effectiveness and what improvements would help to further enhance the policy.
