Training Needs Analysis and Design of Capability Development Framework
The scope
Martin Jenkins was engaged to conduct a training needs analysis and develop a training and development framework for the High and Complex Needs Unit (HCN). The focus was on developing a cost effective and targeted training and development framework to support the development of key staff and stakeholders engaged in the HCN process.
Our Involvement
We undertook a training needs analysis to determine the range of activities and skills required to work effectively across agencies in service coordination, plan development, monitoring and HCN funding processes. We also identified the training needs of various stakeholders groups central to the HCN process.
We then developed a training and development framework to support the functions of the HCN Unit and stakeholders in relation to HCN processes, including induction and ongoing support and training.
We identified and analysed the cost of in-house and contracted training options to deliver the training framework.
The Outcome
We identified a number of cost effective and targeted solutions to enhance capability of the key staff and stakeholders with the overall outcome being that:
- funding is more accessible and processes are completed with increased accuracy;
- confidence by frontline workers and managers;
- increased collaborative working capability and capacity across the key groups.
The MartinJenkins Difference
We were able to combine our extensive skills and experience in HR, research and capability development to ensure a rigorous and thorough analysis of the issues. We were able to identify cost effective, targeted capability development initiatives that will reduce re-work and ensure better outcomes for the clients of HCN.
