Change Management
The scope
The Department of Internal Affairs engaged MartinJenkins to advise it on the implementation of a review into its corporate functions. The review’s focus was to realign the corporate activities so that they better supported the business. Approximately 200 people were covered by the review.
Our Involvement
MartinJenkins Manager Stewart Milner provided guidance and advice on the change process and mechanisms to transition people to roles in the new structure. The review required consultation with staff and their representatives, finalising and release of decisions and then navigation through employees contractual terms and legislative requirements to reassign or reconfirm staff.
The Outcome
The project was completed successfully with all staff issues and status resolved within eight weeks of release of decisions.
The MartinJenkins Difference
Our understanding of employment law, public sector employment agreements, Partnership for Quality (PfQ) and change processes enabled the structural changes to be implemented with minimum adverse impact on staff. Through project planning we also ensured sufficient resources were allocated and that key deadlines were set and met.
