A specialist in economic intelligence, Lan is dedicated to delivering practical and creative solutions for communicating data, both within organisations and to clients

Lan is passionate about developing user-centred information products that help make processes more efficient. Her eight years’ experience in both the private and public sectors allows her to distil complex issues into well-defined problems that have achievable solutions.

Lan joined MartinJenkins in August 2018, coming from Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development, where she was a Research and Insights Analyst. At ATEED, Lan was responsible for translating complex datasets into accessible products providing usable insights for a range of stakeholders.

Her experience in commercial design and supply chain management has also helped Lan hone her talents for creative problem solving, design thinking and product development.

Lan is a clear and concise communicator, and she has a proven record of successfully managing multiple projects and complex stakeholder relationships.

Examples of her recent work include:

  • developing and delivering the Auckland Index and Auckland Growth Monitor, a suite of innovative digital tools that democratise statistical data and provide economic insights for the Auckland region – these resources present regional data and trends through simple, interactive infographics

  • developing a framework for analysing and classifying 19,000 international conferences by size and subject matter to identify opportunities for the Auckland region to develop synergies

  • a major redevelopment of the Auckland Convention Bureau’s CRM, aimed at reducing redundant data, providing a common cross-team schema, and enabling accurate reporting and more effective management of business opportunities

  • designing and automating KPI reporting for the Auckland Convention Bureau, to provide transparency and accountability to external funding bodies

Lan’s multidisciplinary, multicultural background enables her to empathise with clients and build productive relationships quickly and easily. That wide experience means she can bring alternative perspectives, and helps her design pragmatic solutions that work.

Lan has a Bachelor of Design from the Auckland University of Technology and a Certificate in Supply Chain Management.
