Michaela is a policy specialist with a track record of providing high quality advice in challenging social policy contexts.
Michaela enjoys working through complex issues and providing high quality advice to Ministers and senior public servants. Michaela brings calm to busy environments and works with others to collaborate, discuss, debate and enact change. She has a proven track record of stepping outside her comfort zone to seek out new challenges.
Michaela joined MartinJenkins in 2017 from the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) where she was a senior policy analyst working to prepare the legislation to reform Child, Youth and Family and support the new operating model for the Ministry of Vulnerable Children, Oranga Tamariki.
Previous to this, Michaela worked as a private secretary in the Office of the Minister for Social Housing, and as a senior policy analyst and policy analyst working on social housing, income support and employment policy at MSD. In these roles, Michaela delivered high quality policy advice and analysis on social policy issues, informed by evidence and data, and working collaboratively to develop a clear understanding of client and stakeholder perspectives.
Michaela has a Master of Arts in Human Geography and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Public Policy from Victoria University Wellington.
