With a passion for discovery and creative problem-solving, Natalie successfully bridges the worlds of public policy and data analytics, combining her expertise in both areas to generate evidence-based solutions to tough policy challenges.

A highly structured thinker with a background in national security, Natalie is skilled at engaging with senior leaders in government and providing them with high-quality technical and analytical advice on complex policy problems. She has advised chief executives and Ministers across the public sector, both in New Zealand and internationally.

Before joining MartinJenkins in 2021, Natalie worked in the office of the Hon Andrew Little as Private Secretary for the New Zealand Intelligence Community portfolio. There she advised relevant Ministers on national security, and developed a close understanding of the machinery of government and key Cabinet and parliamentary processes.

Natalie was also the technical lead of a high-performing team of data analysts and software developers within the New Zealand Intelligence Community. She was responsible for providing top analytic capability, included business planning, business case development, technical design, and implementation. In this role she was able to think critically and creatively about the Intelligence Community’s lines of effort and influence the direction of operational work.

Dedicated to ensuring organisations maximise the analytic value from their data, Natalie always focuses on her customer to make sure both sides understand the problem well and develop the right solution. She’s also skilled at translating technical concepts in a way that the customer can easily understand.

Natalie's qualifications

Natalie has a Bachelor of Arts in theatre and political science from Victoria University of Wellington, and First Class Honours from the University of Auckland in international relations and political science. She also has a Master of Strategic Studies with Distinction from Victoria.

Natalie is fluent in French and Dutch, and she also volunteers at Star Jam, providing dance and music workshops to children with disabilities.
