With strong data analysis skills and advanced curiosity, Sargam loves deep-diving into huge databases to find the hidden stories
Sargam joined MartinJenkins in 2021 as part of our analyst programme. She brings advanced skills in econometric analysis and macro-economic modelling and testing. She is also well-versed in several data-analysis coding languages, including R, Python and Jupyter.
Sargam is currently supporting our firm’s work on organisational design in the education and conservation sectors. She enjoys applying her skills to find patterns and analyse them for their underlying causes.
As well as her technical data skills Sargam also has the people skills to peel back layers of information when working with stakeholders. She says the best part of this is learning of new perspectives she wasn’t aware of when the day began.
Education and economic development are key interest areas for Sargam. Her Master’s paper looked at the efficacy of New Zealand’s fees-free policy, and earlier, as a volunteer in Mumbai, she taught core academic subjects to children from low-income communities. She is also passionate about community development and has previously volunteered to teach artisan skills to women workers in the villages of India to provide them with a sustainable way of earning a livelihood.
Sargam is fluent in four languages – English, Hindi, Gujarati, and Marathi – and she’s learning a fifth, te reo.
Sargam has a Masters in Professional Economics from Victoria University. Earlier she gained a BA in Economics from Mumbai University and a BA in Design from Mod’art International in Mumbai.
