About the role | Mō te tūranga
We're looking for consultants with policy experience to join our Wellington or Auckland office.
Our firm is in demand for our policy expertise, and you would join us in working on a range of exciting and complex policy projects at this unique time in the history of Aotearoa New Zealand.
In this role you would lead individual projects and also support larger assignments led by your colleagues. You'll have the opportunity to develop your skills and experience while working flexibly across a range of different topic areas.
At MartinJenkins you'll be part of a team of more than 50 consultants and support staff. Our people have a wealth of in-depth knowledge and skills in professional services, and you will bring your own mix of skills and perspectives to expand our range of expertise and thinking.
Who are we looking for? | Ko wai te tangata e kimi nei mātou?
• You have a good understanding of public policy, and you get a kick out of working through tricky problems to come up with actionable advice.
• Your public-policy knowledge will come either from your time with a government agency or from your regulatory background working at one of New Zealand's key utilities or other corporations.
• You're able to apply appropriate frameworks, including policy, evaluative, or economic frameworks, and you're able to think at a systems level.
• You have excellent project-management skills, and you're comfortable working with uncertainty. You write clear and accessible reports, and you're also great interpersonally.
• You have a willingness to contribute to wider firm business development and marketing efforts, as well as other strategic initiatives.
• You will ideally have competence in te reo Māori and experience with kaupapa Māori.
• You will ideally have previous consulting experience, although not essential.
