About the role | Mō te tūranga
We are seeking a curious, smart, and engaging person with some serious Excel skills to provide financial and economic advice to our clients. You’ll be working as part of a strong team, and have lots of opportunities to learn and grow. You’ll provide advice to senior people in local and central government – plus a range of other organisations – all around the country.
You can be based in Wellington, in Auckland, or remotely for this role.

We’d love to hear from you if you have a mix of the following skills and attributes:
• You start each job by looking at the big picture and defining what really needs to be solved, before cracking into the analysis.
• You enjoy the challenge of using Microsoft Excel to model initiatives, organisations, or investment scenarios that are being developed on-the-fly, full of uncertainty, and often changing.
• You have a track record of delivering insightful analysis that focusses on the nub of the problem to senior, busy clients.
• You have a good understanding of the public sector and how government works.
• You are able to work across multiple projects concurrently, and effectively prioritise competing demands.
• You are able to work through peaks in workload and are comfortable with sticking your hand up for help when it’s needed.
• Ideally you’re a Chartered Financial Analyst or Chartered Accountant, and have a minimum of three years’ professional experience in a relevant role – a good chunk of it working in either a consulting firm or a government role.
• You have strong empathy for upholding the values of tikanga Māori.
