Consulting

Clare is passionate about supporting clients to connect all their organisation’s work to their strategy, and so help their people to simplify the complex and prioritise what will make a difference.

Clare spent much of the last decade working to improve services and support for the public of New Zealand. This included leading the delivery of the government’s first truly integrated service for parents when they have a baby.

She’s passionate about understanding how people experience services and processes – whether that’s the public, the community sector, or the staff within an organisation – so that their experience can be improved.

Clare is an experienced senior leader who has worked across central government, Crown entities, the not-for-profit sector, and business. In government she has partnered with others – both in times of crisis and in calm – to deliver improved services and urgent support.

Before she joined us, Clare was the General Manager of Community Operations at the Department of Internal Affairs.

Examples of Clare’s work

  • Leading the transformation of community funding of over $400 million per year – this included developing a new strategy, moving from an output to outcome focus that is data-driven, simplifying it for communities and hapū and iwi, and introducing a new internal operating model
  • Working with a government agency to diagnose difficulties and opportunities in their strategy and policy function, moving towards becoming more connected and strategy-led and increasing their impact
  • Working alongside a community trust on broadening the trustees’ understanding of the philanthropic sector to support their strategy discussions.
