Jarred Griffiths

Lead – AI Transformation
Ārahi – Panonitanga AI

Consulting

Jarred knows what it takes to adopt AI well – he led Hutt City Council’s AI Programme, widely recognised as a New Zealand exemplar. He provides practical advice grounded in experience, not just theory.

Jarred has worked at all levels of government, supporting organisations and leaders to tackle complex issues and achieve transformative change.

As a key member of the Hutt City Council’s Corporate Leadership Team, he was the driving force behind the Council’s successful AI adoption programme, which has been recognised as one of the most effective in New Zealand.

Jarred supports organisations to adopt AI in a way that genuinely transforms how they operate and puts their people at the heart. His approach is shaped by hands-on experience leading an AI programme that did exactly that.

He believes AI adoption is more likely to be successful when leaders put people’s needs at the centre of the change, including sharing a coherent vision and approach with them and involving them in developing and refining the new ways of working.

Examples of Jarred’s work

  • Leading the successful AI adoption programme at Hutt City Council as Director of Strategy and Engagement – this included scaling tools to 300 staff, developing a suite of custom agents, and progressing a range of transformative end-to-end process solutions
  • Leading the development of a service catalogue and revised operating model for Hutt City Council, to prepare the organisation well for local government reform
  • Leading a finalist project for the 2025 Global Mayor’s Challenge run by Bloomberg Philanthropies – the project focussed on using AI to radically improve emergency management communications.
