Consulting

A business-improvement leader, Nancy is rated highly by her clients for how she commits herself fully to their organisation and cares deeply about their people and their success.

For more than 20 years Nancy has been helping organisations achieve sustainable improvements in how they work and what they produce. She successfully translates leaders’ high-level ideas of where they want to go into practical designs and tangible changes.

In a rare combination, Nancy brings both a highly structured analytical approach and the softer people-skills needed to get the client’s staff involved in identifying and solving problems. She knows for example that it’s important to bring the client’s key people together to talk to and listen to each other.

She also believes firmly that while change can be prescribed in formal documents, old practices and problems can continue if the client’s people aren’t won around to the benefits of the new ways of working.

Examples of Nancy’s work

  • Leading the implementation of Maritime NZ’s new organisational strategy – Nancy led a multi-disciplinary team to design, plan, and deliver a multi-year work programme covering organisational design, policy changes, cultural shifts, digital improvements, and process improvements.
  • Leading the design and practice development for the NZ Police Child Sex Offender Register – Nancy led the team who translated the new legislation into tangible work practices.
  • Leading the design and stakeholder engagement for an operational framework for emergency water stations across the Wellington region – this included delivering documented operational process maps and operating procedures.
  • Leading a significant process-improvement programme for the Environmental Protection Authority – this included implementing a structured approach to process management and continuous improvement, and it achieved a range of improvements for the EPA’s application processes.
