Amanda Watson

Business Support Senior Assistant and PX Coordinator
Auckland office

Amanda is the heart of our induction and onboarding processes. She supports new members of our whānau and their managers in both our Auckland and Wellington offices, to ensure that each new staff member’s experience at MartinJenkins is a positive one.

Undoubtedly a people-person, it’s no surprise that Amanda works in People Experience. She’s the friendly first face our new people encounter – from the beginning of the recruitment process through to ensuring they’ve got everything they need in their first weeks at work.

It’s important to Amanda that new staff have a positive experience right from the get-go. Naturally inquisitive, she’s always looking for ways to improve our induction systems and processes, as well as upgrading her own individual skills through both on-the-job learning and studying HR.

Before she joined us in 2020, Amanda’s background was in the arts and creative sector. She was a project manager for an independent art consultancy, where she dealt mostly with commissioning large-scale artworks for corporate clients. Amanda also held positions at a leading Auckland auction house and a public art gallery in Wellington.

Amanda has a BA double major in Art History and English Literature, with Honours in Art History, from Victoria University of Wellington.

Amanda also has a Certificate in HR Fundamentals from internationally recognised HR training provider, Elephant Group.
