The Northland Corridor comprises three Roads of National Significance designed to improve connectivity, resilience, and economic growth between Auckland and Northland. MartinJenkins supported the Northland Corridor from its initial development in October 2024 through to Financial Close of the Warkworth to Te Hana section in July 2026. This involves the delivery of a 26-kilometre, four-lane motorway, extending the existing motorway north from Warkworth to Te Hana. Alongside the Christchurch Men's Prison project, it is one of the two projects being delivered under the Government's new public-private partnership framework.
Given the scale, complexity, and public significance of the Northland Corridor, NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi required support across a range of strategic, commercial, and delivery functions. MartinJenkins worked alongside the NZTA team throughout its development. We independently reviewed the economic modelling, provided strategic advice, transaction management and project management services. Our role evolved as the Northland Corridor progressed, helping decision-makers navigate key investment, procurement, and governance milestones. By supporting from inception through to the conclusion of the Warkworth to Te Hana transaction, we provided continuity across multiple workstreams and stages of delivery. This helped keep strategic, commercial, and delivery considerations connected as the Warkworth to Te Hana section moved from pre-implementation to delivery.
